Re: TRACKING

Thanks for the replies.

Both are a definite improvement on string. I'll knock up some wooden tracking gauges as per the picture whilst keeping my eye on Ebay for a cheap Trakrite.

TRACKING

I'm a straightedge and string man myself, but is there a 'best practice' method for Trikings? And what's the consensus on toe-in amount?
I found a bit of feathering on my tyres so must have cocked up last time I adjusted...

Re: LOOSE SPOKES

An update on my wheels... I disassembled the wheel to check the hub spoke drillings. No cracks, no wear, thank goodness. On reassembly, I found that the wheel had been rebuilt previously with quite a few replacement spokes. Unfortunately the replacements had been ordered too long and cut down to fit...

the holes were elongated and made it impossible to set up the wheel correctly.
Will check for this - have had this on an old outfit, with the same effect, so long ago I'd forgotten!

Thanks for the answers, chaps.

LOOSE SPOKES

I have a Type 1 and despite a regular checking and retightening, when I push the Triking back into the garage after even a gentle trip, there's the 'orrible crinkling noise from the front wheels. Even on the rear wheels of sidecar combinations I've ...

Re: Hopefully others (and myself) can learn (again) from my Stupidity

Coming from an aircraft operations background, this is something about which I'm very careful! When working on aircraft, every tool has to be accounted for, usually by employing a shadowboard/tool tag system. I've spent many a late night combing a hangar for that missing 10mm socket! I also never le...

Re: driving tips

The Triking feels lighter, nimbler and more willing than either old or new (Fivespeed) Morgans. The front suspension is considerably more compliant and much more responsive. My Type 1 has a lot more roll than a Morgan, don’t know about others. The Fivespeed Morgan is relatively comfortable inside an...

You know that Conti CST / T165 is a temporary-use spare, yes?
