Re: Build progress

Had a nice weekend away at my daughter’s, got home today to find Triking registration approved, much to my surprise.I only posted the forms on 19th August so DVLA has only taken 3 weeks to process the application - was expecting at least 2 months. Have rushed out and bought number plates which are n...

Re: Build progress

Quite pleased with the finished windscreen, and have now fully fitted the single wiper. Wasn’t quite straight forward as I had set it up to park to the centre of the screen, so had to reverse the arms on the motor and wiper spindles and it then parked correctly.

Re: Build progress

Carefully followed Alan’s guidance and screen went on with no dramas, and more importantly no black goo on paintwork. The only cleaning up to be done is on the glass and the metal brackets, once the goo is fully dry. Once that is done it just leaves getting my “cheapo” windscreen wiper working - I a...

Re: Build progress

Big thanks to John, Richard, and Mark, for the info that stopped me cocking up my registration application. I do think the Gov websites are very misleading but I was about to submit form V55/4 and it needed to be V55/5 as I am applying for an age related registration. Have spent most of the day sort...

Re: Build progress

Many thanks to Chris who came round today and helped me complete form V55/4. Apparently you don’t need to answer the questions on emissions - this was later confirmed in an email from DVLA who also advised that you are not given emission details as part of MSVA test. This leaves form V627/1 (Built u...

Re: Build progress

Trying to sort out form V55/4 for registration and there are 3 questions (16,35,47) that relate to emissions and which I can’t answer. Alan thinks I should have been given emissions printout with MSVA certificate but I wasn’t. Do I have to fill in these questions?

Re: Build progress

Finally went for MSVA test this morning and passed with flying colours. The tester was very complimentary about the car and the quality of the kit. Very satisfying but won’t be doing any celebrating due to personal circumstances but will press ahead with registration, although am told big backlog at...

K & N air filters

Getting ready for MSVA, I took car to a friends farm to give it a good run. All was well but after a good few runs I noticed that the o/s exhaust note sounded more “popping” than the n/s. Previously they always sounded the same. This morning I took the bonnet off and can see that the o/s K & N air f...

Re: Build progress

Wish I had thought about using hair dryer. Have stuck and unstuck the vinyl round the corners so many times that I will now leave it alone - it is not perfect but does look very acceptable.

Re: Build progress

Thanks for your kind comments. Can’t wait to get it on the road once current virus problems are over. Have spent most of afternoon driving up and down my short shingle drive, getting used to reverse g/box which does seem to be bedding in as can now get forwards more easily. Have now got to go out an...
